Cult Nails Manipulative

Sun

Hello and happy almost Tuesday!

Today I have the new Cult Nails Manipulative to show you.  I am completely in love with these types of colors lately.  Sea-foam blue/green makes my happy!  This is three coats of Manipulative.  The formula was fantastic.  There is a slight shimmer to this color that the camera just didn't want to pick up.  Take a look and let me know what you think.

Pretty & Polished Party on My Yacht

Hi Everyone!  Sorry I was gone most of this week but we had family in town.  Today I'm showing you Pretty & Polished Party on My Yacht.  POMY is a milky white polish with several colors of glitter in it.  This is two coats of POMY over two coats of Zoya Purity.  On my accent finger I have cool star water nail decals from KKcenterHK.  Here's a few more pictures.

Giant hand picture in the sun :)

Shade

Sheet of decals.  Each sheet has six rows.

Overall I think this manicure looked better in my head than on my nails but oh well.  I didn't like Party on My Yacht near as much as I thought I would.  Into the swap pile it goes.  The nail decals I absolutely loved!  Although I did try to put them on backwards the first time.  After watching a youtube video I've got it down.  They aren't sticky and can be repositioned if you want.  I have some others to show you soon.  You can check out the decals here.  The lovely people at KKcenterHK have given me a code that will save you 10% on their website.  Enter mylifeinpolish when making a purchase.

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend.  Get out and do something fun!

China Glaze Sour Apple

Hey my lovely readers!  Today I have a quick post about a super bright color.  This is China Glaze Sour Apple.  I keep trying to call this Sour Kangaroo because I wore it to see my sister play the Sour Kangaroo in Seussical.  I layered Sour Apple over Zoya Midori so I didn't have to wear so many layers of glitter.  I think this is two coats of SA but honestly I'm not 100% sure as I wore this in February and just came across the pictures.  In the bottom picture you can see the different colored glitter a bit better.

So what do you think?  Do you like super bright glitters like this?  I also got Blue Hawaiian and Dreamsicle at the same time.

Take care,
Sara

Shop My Stash Sunday

Hi Everyone!  I finally have another Shop My Stash post.  I know it's been a while.  This is China Glaze Gothic Lolita.  Isn't she pretty?  I've worn this a couple of times now and I still love it so much.  This is two coats and topcoat.  I've been trying out a new topcoat called Hong Kong Girl and I freakin' love it.  It's not 3-free but I know many people use Seche Vite so that my not be a bother.  It dries quickly and wears like iron.  The biggest difference for me is SV caused shrinkage with almost every nail polish I wore.  HK Girl hasn't caused any shrinkage for me at all.  I've been using it about a month now.  I ordered mine through a company called Glisten & Glow.  You can click here to go check it out.  G & G does customizable lotions, body wash, cuticle oil and so much more, including selling nail polish.  Last I checked HK Girl was $5+shipping.

Hope you've all had a great weekend!

Catrice Return of Space Cowboys

Yay for Fridays!! Anyone doing anything fun this weekend? My husband has two family shoots on Saturday but they are for friends so we get to hang out with them afterwards. Should be lots of fun. Today I have an awesome mani for you that unfortunately didn't photograph so well. The bottom color is China Glaze Gothic Lolita (I'll show you this by itself for Shop My Stash Sunday) and the top color is Catrice Return of Space Cowboys from the Million Styles collection. The top picture is more color accurate and the bottom picture shows my half moon mani a bit better. This was my first half moon and I am less than thrilled with the definition of the half moon. I'm going to try something a little different with the hole reinforcements and see if I get a better result.

If you have any other suggestions for getting a better half moon please let me know. If you don't even like half moon manicures, well thanks for stopping by anyway :)

I hope you all have a great day!

Let's Call Them Spring Nails

So today I'm going to show you my Easter mani. Since I fail at life and didn't get it posted on Easter I thought we'd change them to spring nails. Either way it was my first experience with skittles and I can't wait to do it again. I'll list the polishes used under the photo. Now normally I don't show you my thumb because well, it looks weird. It's okay, you can totally agree with me. However I really wanted you to see the pretty color I had on so just look at the color and ignore the awkwardness :)

Thumb: Essie To Buy or Not To Buy *3 coats
Index: Sinful Colors Morning Star *3 coats
Middle: Sinful Colors Unicorn *3 coats
Ring: Sinful Colors Cinderella *3 coats
Pinky: Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Mint Sorbet *2 coats
The polka dots are Zoya Purity (best white ever).

So what do you guys think of skittle manicures? Do it or not? I can't wait to try another.

Happy spring!

Catrice Sold Out Forever

Hi Everyone!

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend. We had lots of fun this weekend but now I have a sick husband and kid. Sorry about the lack of posts this weekend. To make up for it I have a lovely polish to show you. I recently did a swap with a great lady from the Netherlands. I received my first Catrice polishes. Today I have Catrice Sold Out Forever for your viewing pleasure. Sold Out Forever is a dusty, minty green with a slight shimmer. Three coats made this polish perfect. Apparently there are two versions of this polish, the original (this one) and a second one that is lacking in green color. Oh and my accent nail is Spoiled Pet My Peacock. Cool glitter with a nasty, awful brush. Take a look.

This last picture isn't the greatest but I really wanted you to be able to see the shimmer this polish has. I will definitely have to get more Catrice. I'm actually still wearing the polish as I type and it still looks really good 5 days later. I hope you all have a beautiful Monday. Take care!

Zoya Parveen

Hello and happy Thursday!

Today I have Zoya Parveen for you. I think this is two coats but I'm not 100% sure as my notebook is in the bedroom where my husband is currently sleeping. Parveen is from the limited edition Bibhu Mohapatra box. I knew I'd be iffy on this color but I really wanted Zeenat from the same box so I got it anyway. So I've got mixed feelings on Parveen. In some light it looks okay but I'm not sold.

If these photos look weird to you it's because this is my right hand. I'm right handed so notmally you only see my left hand. What do you think of Parveen? I'm going to add her to my swap list. If you are interested in swapping for it let me know.

Have a great day!

Sonia Kashuk Fairy Princess

Today's polish is a real stunner. This is three coats of Sonia Kashuk Fairy Princess. I was at Target a few weeks ago checking out the polish of course, when I picked up what I thought was mint cream color. To my surprise and delight this mint polish has an amazing blue shimmer in it. Best part is that it is completely noticeable on the nail. This is three coats and topcoat. Take a look!

I just love it when a polish shocks me like this did. It's a fantastic polish plus the name is killer, right? Have you tried any Sonia Kashuk polishes. I have a few and they are all great.

Have a happy Tuesday!

Icing Glitz and Glam

Hello my fellow nail polish lovers! Today I have a quick post to show you a really pretty glitter polish I won in a giveaway from Painting Outside the Lines on facebook. I won two polishes, Icing Glitz and Glam and a Sinful Colors with no label but it's a really pretty teal, blueish color. This is two coats of Glitz and Glam over two coats of Cult Nails Blackout. I wish I would have stopped at one coat of the glitter but oh well. I had originally tried to wear this polish by itself but at three coats I still had sparse spots but over black I am in love. I wore this polish for 5 days with no chips or tip wear. Amazing!

So what do you think? I can't wait to wear this again. Go check out Painting Outside the Lines. She posts lots of great stuff.

Have a great day!

Stamping Plates Review

Hi Everyone!

Recently I was contacted by kkcenterhk.com to review a few stamping plates. After conversing back and forth a bit I was sent two plates and a stamper/scraper. The plates I used today are B17 and B47. I used a few images from both plates.

Now let me tell you the story of two stampers and scrapers. The first pictures show two coats of Zoya Trixie stamped with WnW Black Creme, my go to black for stamping. For the Trixie pictures I used the stamper and scraper provided to me. The images didn't fully transfer every time I did it. At first I thought it was just me because all plates have a learning curve.

You can see several spots that don't look filled in. The flower on my ring finger looks the worst I think. It's like the stamper just wasn't picking up all the polish from the plate. I was bummed. So I decided to try the plates with my Konad stamper and scraper. Holy cow what a difference! The next couple of pictures are three coats of Zoya Phoebe and stamping with Konad special white. The difference is amazing. Full images were picked up and transfered. I did the flower again and I love it. I can see this being so fun using multiple colors.

I should point out that the smearing on the first finger is a result of me trying to put my son's shoes on. It is not a result of the plates. So it boils down to, I love the plates and really dislike the stamper. You can click the plate numbers above to check them and others out.

Thanks for stoping by today!

Bettina Hippie

Know what happens when you let a 4yr old pick out your nail color? You get the brightest, sparkliest orange he could find. Bettina Hippie was the color he picked for me. This color is from the Bettina Disco collection. I really love this whole collection. What I didn't care for was the four coats this took to be somewhat opaque. Even at four coats it still wore really well. Took a few days before it started to chip. The above photo is in full sun and the bottom photos are in the shade.

I'm really starting to love Bettina. I may have to do another order from them soon.

Take care,
Sara

Piggy Polish Blue-ty Call

And I'm back! Sorry for the silence. Today is World Autism Awareness Day, so I have a blue polish to support the cause. Autism affects 1 in 88 kids in the US according to the latest research. It's time to figure this out.

So today my blue polish is Piggy Polish Blue-ty Call. My 4yr old, Becks, picked this color out for me at Ulta a few weeks ago. He is the biggest enabler! This is 3 coats of Blue-ty Call. Do I even need to address the ridiculousness of this name? I didn't think so :) Anyway, I really like this pretty blue. In the bottle it has a little purple shift but that doesn't translate to the nail. The first two pictures are in the sun. The last picture is in the shade.

For more information regarding autism click here to go to the home page of Autism Speaks.

Have a great day!
